Gurvin Jewellers began in the early 1950’s at 710 West Hastings Street. My father, Abe Gurvin, single-handedly initiated the art of ‘ear-piercing’, and has pierced literally thousands of women’s ears in the 50’s and sixty’s.  In 1959, the business was moved to 866 Granville Street, next to the Orpheum Theatre.

The business expanded and developed with my assistance at the helm, and in 1969, we designed and built a new store at 848 Granville Street

I specialize in custom design, and I enjoy my time spent on the work bench, attending to most repairs of our clientele’s fine jewellery. I am a very “hands on” owner and I oversee all aspects of my business; from staff interviewing, staff hiring, inventory control, finance, marketing, sales, repairs, and along with the support and assistance of my very qualified staff, the general day to day operation of Gurvin Jewellers.

I thoroughly enjoy all our clientele, and mostly enjoy the interaction of the many varied personalities that patronize Gurvin Jewellers Ltd.

Having been in the business for forty-two years, I have had the privilege of learning almost every aspect of the jewellery business. These areas include the many various methods of attaining the required end result in the most timely and cost effective manner. My worldwide diamond and gem connections save my clients many thousands of dollars. I look forward to the honor to assist you to the best of my ability and trust your relationship with my amazing staff and I, will be a fantastic one and establish a lifelong friendship based on honesty and trust.
